From 2018 - 2020, Mr. Castro worked as an agent for ESRP, a privately held, tenant and buyer focused commercial real estate firm. As Executive Vice President of the company, Mr. Castro specialized in representing industrial clients on site selection, acquisition, and lease transactions.
From 2006 – 2018, Mr. Castro served as the Vice President for the Dallas-Fort Worth market for DCT Industrial Trust (NYSE: DCT), a leading publicly traded warehouse/industrial property REIT which owned, developed and internally managed over 73 million square feet of bulk-distribution and light-industrial properties. DCT Industrial was acquired by Prologis (NYSE: PLD) on August 22, 2018 for $8.4 billion (including debt) in a stock-for-stock transaction. Mr. Castro managed leasing and asset management for the Dallas-Fort Worth portfolio. He also contributed to capital deployment including the acquisition of 11 Class A and B industrial assets totaling $88M and the development of 8 buildings totaling $92M. Both acquisitions and developments were in in-fill locations with strong rent growth due to high demand and limited availability of developable land.
From 2002 – 2006, Mr. Castro performed investment analysis for the Capital Markets group and eventually served as an industrial tenant representative and leasing agent at Cushman and Wakefield of Dallas.
